Over the years, scientists have made some surprising discoveries. One of
these discoveries is that we have entire cities (e.g. Jakarta, Indonesia and Venice, Italy) that are slowly sinking into the ocean. Scientists believe that, one day, the cities will disappear completely under the water. Yikes!
Some of the residents (people living in the cities) have taken pictures of their neighbourhoods and written stories about their lives in order to make a record of what ‘life was like’ in their city before it disappeared.
Let’s imagine that New Zealand was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean next week (Eek!). Before it sinks you are asked to write a blog post telling people what life was like in New Zealand in 2018.
On your blog, post a description of life in New Zealand in 2018. Please remember that the people who read your post will have never been to New Zealand or even seen a picture so it is your job to ‘paint a picture’ of New Zealand using your words. You can also post pictures, if you wish. Be sure to fully attribute the pictures.
New Zealand is a very outstanding country to be living in. The population in New Zealand is currently 4.75 million people. I love living in New Zealand, you can do anything that will make you happy like spending time with your whanau (Family and Friends), going out to the movies or shopping, or just spending time with one and other. Although the population in New Zealand may feel low but its because we live in a small country but with big spaces all around. Bad things can happen in our country but we still manage to treat it with respect. Whats really significant about our country is the unique stories behind our ancestors, flags and how New Zealand came about. In New Zealand our weather changes a lot at some point its sunny then it rains then back to sunny. Our weather changes a lot that's why for you travellers if you are planning to come to our country make sure to bring summer and winter clothes just in case.
There is so much to tell yous about New Zealand but keeping it interesting and short, we have amazing Ice creams. Most people from other countries come to our country because of how real and tasty our Ice cream is. They say that there flavours aren't tasty enough, and I could really ask why but I figured that we use real fruits and dairy milk to make our ice creams. My favourite place in New Zealand is probably the beaches, may not look nice like the ones in the island but its really calm and peaceful.
Fakalofa lahi atu Rowana,
ReplyDeleteYou have written a nice little description about our country Aotearoa. I agree that our country has lots of beautiful scenery and fun places to visit, maybe next time you could include the names (and pictures) of some of these special places. I bet tourists would appreciate the recommendations.
You are so right about the weather, it can be very unpredictable, the warning for a range in clothing was well called for. This summer has been real hot so far, but there have been odd days where it's just pouring down non-stop!
I love all the cultural diversity (different cultures) we have here in Aotearoa, there are so many events that happen every year to celebrate diversity. Pasifika Festival is one event I love to go to, it makes me proud to see all our Tagata Pasifika being celebrated in a big way. Have you ever been to Pasifika?
Toe feiloa'i fo'i,
Cia.
